These tubes are not so well known as Holland and Germans. In my opinion, they are the most neutral !@at7 I have tried out of so many, and compliment and let sing any other tube they support without bringing in their own color, yet, are VERY musical.
Like a Siemens 3-mica cO1--but that one is a bit thin and cold (sometimes good--like with warm-sounding power tubes or warm speakers)--the Brimar is just the right amount of warmth across the spectrum. Great tube, really, to my ear. I am not sure this rare variety sounds different that 3 mica halo--but--it is rare and look cool. Usually, the earlier the better. This great black plate, like the color, goes with everything.
