"I received the ECC35's yesterday and had to send you a note and let you know

how great these tubes sound (at least in my simple system). I have tried

Brimar CV-1985's, Tung Sol 6SL7WGT, RCA Red Base 5691s and JAN Sylvania

VT-229 (1944). Of these, the Sylvanias were clearly the winner. They have a

richness and musicality that the others cannot match. Then along came the

Mullards. I heard details and depth in the music last night that I had never

heard before and the soundstage became deeper and more three dimensional.

Each of the other tubes mentioned has a certain strength. The RCA's have

punch and extended highs, The Brimars throw a wide, deep stage and the Tung

Sols are very clear and detailed. The Mullards however, seem to encompass

all these qualities and add a harmonic richness that just makes the music

sound better. Thanks for the great tubes."
